The Lazarus Effect

Bjørn Beltø is searching for an ancient Babylonian-Egyptian work known as the Book of the Dead, but he’s not alone. A dangerous order of monks is willing to go to great lengths to stop him. At the same time, an American research team is working on a top-secret project. Under the codename “The Lazarus Effect,” they are trying to understand what actually happens to us after we die. Could it be true that the soul continues to exist after the body’s death? Beltø realizes there is a horrifying connection between the Book of the Dead and The Lazarus Effect. The novel is based on the biblical legend of Lazarus, whom Jesus raised from the dead after four days in the grave: “Lazarus, come out!” Jesus shouted. Then the dead man came out, his hands and feet wrapped with strips of linen, and a cloth around his face. – John 11:44
