Dilani Vamapahan joins Northern Stories

Northern Stories has hired Dilani Vamapahan as a literary agent. She was chosen from a pool of 175 applicants.

Dilani has more than 15 years of experience in the publishing industry, where she has held a number of key positions in several publishing houses. Among these are Head of Sales and Information for Children’s Books at Vigmostad & Bjørke and Head of Sales and Marketing at Pilar Forlag. She has also worked as Key Account Manager at Bazar, Schibsted, and Vigmostad & Bjørke.

“After a few years outside the publishing industry, I am truly excited to return. I have always had a passion for stories, whether they are told through books, films, or series, and I look forward to working closely with the talented authors represented by Northern Stories. The agency has shown remarkable growth in an industry facing challenges, and I am eager to contribute to the company’s continued success,” says Dilani Vamapahan.

She has also been Managing Director at Montgomery AS and most recently worked as Commercial Manager at Plan International Norway. Over the course of her career, she has gained solid expertise and built an extensive professional network in the industry. With additional background from ARK and Read Bokhandel, she has strong insight into the entire book industry.

Dilani takes up her position on October 1.

Northern Stories named a Gazelle Company for the second year in a row

Norway’s largest independent literary agency, Northern Stories, has been named a Gazelle Company by Dagens Næringsliv for the second consecutive year. In 2024, the agency grew its turnover from NOK 10.2 to 15.8 million – an increase of more than 50 percent, marking yet another record year.
