Dumbsday, written by Christopher Pahle, received the award for Best Screenplay in the “Long Format Series” category at Canneseries, against seven other international series.
Dumbsday is a post-apocalyptic comedy where humanity is at risk of being wiped out by a brain virus that makes people dumber. Six people survive, and the fate of humanity hangs in the balance with these six individuals and the choices they make.
“It’s still a bit surreal. It was more than enough honor just to be included in the main program. It’s very exciting, and I feel like I’m sharing this with everyone who has worked so hard to make our series”, Pahle says.
Christopher Pahle is a prolific, award-winning screenwriter for television and stage, as well as a childrens book author. He works in a variety of fields, mixing genres and styles, comedy and drama, satire and heart, to tell innovative stories with a mass appeal.
